The Transdanubian Research Institute for its 70th anniversary organised a two-day international conference between 27-28 June 2013 under the title "Territorial Cohesion in Europe". The conference's presentations, papers volume and photos are available on the TRI's 70-year anniversary website.

The project consortium has published its second newsletter of EUBORDERSCAPES (FP7) project.

The director general of Research Centre for Economic and Regional Studies appointed Cecília Mezei as head of Transdanubian Research Department of CERS IRS HAS. Pálné Ilona Kovács, the former head of department will continue her activities at the institute as scientific advisor.

The project consortium has published its first newsletter of EUBORDERSCAPES (FP7) project.

As a result of a several decades' cooperation between the Centre for Regional Studies, the CNRS and the University of Montpellier III the institute was also invited into the ALDETEC (Action et Développement du Territoire locale en Europe Centrale) programme.

On May 4th 2011 the Conference Hall of Baranya County Assembly was the venue of the closing conference of the ongoing UNIREG IMPULS IPA Programme. The general aim of the conference was to overview the project's main results and activities and the four working groups have presented the experiences and results of their work having achieved during the past 16 months. In addition, the participation of guest speakers in certain fields also raised the importance of events.

The Centre for Regional Studies of Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Regional Science Association and the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs organise a Conference presenting the results of the research performed jointly by the Centre for Regional Studies of Hungarian Academy of Sciences and OECD to all those interested.

The Rural Development Workshop of IPA UNIREG IMPULSE project was held in Beremend with representatives of various actors of rural development such as Baranya County Government, the Baranja County Development Agency in Osijek, LAG leaders from both sides of the Hungarian-Croatian border. The presentations gave detailed accounts on the parties' practical and scientific results and the Hungarian experts highlighted the programme's threats, failures and problems for the Croatian side. The guidelines of cooperation, the common objectives and potentials of rural development initiatives were also highlighted on the workshop.

The Regional Development Working Committee of the Centre of the Regional Committee of HAS in Pécs held an Open Committee meeting for the greater public (researchers, university students, enterprises) on 11 November 2010. The open meeting was organized with the aim of introducing the clusters of Southern-Transdanubia.

On the day commemorating the Day of Hungarian Science Gábor Lux, our colleague, won the Award of the Pécs Academic Committee.
