On March 21, 2012 Márton Czirfusz, junior research fellow at the Central and North Hungarian Research Department defended his PhD dissertation (summa cum laude, 96%) entitled Occupational restructuring as a scientific concept in Hungarian human geography at the Eötvös Loránd University Doctoral School of Earth Sciences.

The dissertation focuses primarily on the philosophy of geography, but also partly on the history of the discipline and the sociology of scientific knowledge. It provides an in-depth analysis of the changing discourse of occupational restructuring within Hungarian human geography.
